Enroll El Paso encourages youth to #GetCovered for National Youth Enrollment Day

El Paso, TX (Dec. 7,  2016) - In celebration of National Youth Enrollment Day (NYED), a day of awareness across the country, the Enroll El Paso Coalition is urging youth in the community to inform themselves and enroll in a health plan before the deadline. This year NYED is Sat., Dec. 10, 2016. 

Enroll El Paso is a community-wide coalition created to support the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The goal of Enroll El Paso this week is to help young adults in El Paso understand their health care options and make the decision to #GetCovered this Saturday. 

We know that young adutls have the highest rate of uninsured in the country. Nearly 1 in 6 young adults don't have health insurance coverage. Individuals must enroll in or change health plans by December 15, 2016 for the health plan to start on January 1, 2017. The ACA allows young adults to stay on their parents' health care plan until age 26. 

Individuals needing in-person assistance can schedule an appointment with Enroll El Paso by calling (915) 206-2121 during regular business hours Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., or visiting EnrollElPaso.org. Enrolling is also as easy as logging onto HealthCare.gov on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device or calling 1-800-318-2596.
