1. Tell us about yourself.
I am a student at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), pursuing a career in Marketing and Management. I am the youngest in my family along with my twin brother, who is two minutes younger than me. I have a strong passion for photography, graphic design, fashion, volunteering, and music.
2. Give us a description of what you do for United Way.
I am the Marketing Intern for the summer, and I am grateful to be part of this heart-giving company. I assist the Marketing/Communications Associate and Director with social media posts, graphic design, photography, and also assist the United Way team with any Marketing materials they might need.
3. Why is this work so important to our community?
I believe Marketing is so important for the El Paso community because it helps share all the upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and other great things that are beneficial to people. Marketing is so powerful, because we engage with the online community the most and help spread awareness to broader areas in El Paso.
4. What is the most surprising thing you have learned about the community and yourself in your time at United Way?
The most surprising thing I have learned about the El Paso community is that people within the community offer a myriad of programs that help different demographics in the city, and it is amazing to see the way they change people’s lives. In the time that I have been here at United Way, I have learned that the resources we offer can make a difference for families, adults, children, and the youth.
5. Share a quote that motivates you as a person and as a member of the United Way team.
A quote that motivates me the most is “find your vision, and let it guide you in all that you do” by John C. Maxwell. This quote inspires me to find more ways to help people in the community and have that vision in mind in everything I do. I love United Way because everything they offer for the community aligns with my vision.
