Young Leaders Bring Gifts and Spread Cheer to Dame La Mano

 

United Way Young Leaders Society members spent time with children at Dame La Mano recently. The shelter offers mothers and children a safe place to stay, counseling, financial support, food, clothing, education and job placement.

UWYLS members were encouraged to bring a gift for a child to the UWYLS annual holiday party. Armed with more than 40 gifts, volunteers from

UWYLS gave a gift to each child and enjoyed getting to know mothers and children over pizza and drinks. Volunteers also read a Christmas story to the kids and toured the downtown facility.
