OUR HISTORY
For more than 100 years, we’ve been working to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities to advance the common good.
Since 1923, the United Way of El Paso County (UWEPC) has championed local philanthropy. Originally formed to provide a collective, unified fundraising response for health and social services, it has evolved into a vital backbone for the region, focusing its community efforts on education, basic needs, financial stability, and health.

Building Resiliency
Founded to organize and coordinate community services through a single fundraising campaign.
The organization narrowed its community impact strategy to target three core pillars: Education, Basic Needs, and Income.
Following the August 3rd tragedy, UWEPC took the reins in supporting the community by helping establish and fund the El Paso United Family Resiliency Center.
Stepped in as the lead agency to navigate emergency relief for local families during the COVID-19 pandemic and provided ongoing support for asylum-seeking families.
Acts as the central coordinating body for the Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) and distributes critical federal funding through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).
