(El Paso, TX) – The United Way of El Paso County (UWEPC) is proud to announce the allocation of crucial dollars through their Community Impact Fund to a carefully selected group of El Paso-based nonprofits, set to be distributed from 2025 to 2028. In total, 17 agencies and 22 programs were selected to receive funds.

Through the Community Impact Fund, United Way invests in agency programs to address local needs. By leveraging unrestricted donor dollars with their capacity-building grant process, United Way ensures the greatest return on investment for donors, nonprofit partners, and those whose lives they aim to improve.

United Way’s Community Impact allocations have a long-standing tradition, with the process to ensure the fair and legitimate distribution of funds to partner agencies addressing critical community needs. Each funding cycle, volunteer committees—comprising experts and professionals in areas such as basic needs, education, financial stability, and health—evaluate agency applications, review budgets and program outcomes, and make recommendations to the United Way of El Paso County’s Board of Directors.

The United Way’s network of donors contributes to the Community Impact Fund in a variety of ways including individual gifts, by joining the Leadership Society, or through a workplace giving campaign. On July 10, United Way officially kicked off workplace giving with Wake Up With United Way, a pep rally and kick-off for campaign coordinators who work with the leadership at their companies to entice donations and recurring giving through their staff. This event allowed for them to connect with the funded agencies, network and share tips and tricks with other coordinators, and energize for their respective campaigns.
