Young Leaders Society (YLS) members are making a difference across El Paso, at volunteer events, community celebrations, and in their everyday work.

In our Donor Network Spotlight Series, we spotlight members who are turning their passion for service into real community impact. This month, meet Andres Rodriguez III, whose commitment to volunteering and connecting others to opportunities is helping strengthen our community.
For Andres, becoming a member of YLS helped him realize the power of collective impact.
“I realized that while I was helping on my own, I could do so much more by joining an organization with an established reach,” he shared.
Surrounded by other young professionals who share similar values, Andres found himself inspired by what he describes as a “positive progression” happening across El Paso.
Professionally, Andres serves as an Administrative Associate II at UPS Supply Chain Solutions, where he specializes in coordinating express critical deliveries for high-priority business sectors. His logistics expertise became especially meaningful when he volunteered during the Día de los Muertos Parade, helping transport large art installations for the event.
Seeing the massive community turnout left a lasting impression. Assisting with the movement of vibrant cultural artwork and witnessing the joy across the crowd was, as Andres described it, “a powerful reminder of how tradition can unite our entire city.”
Andres is also passionate about helping others maximize their impact. Through his role at UPS, he utilized the company’s corporate matching program to double his charitable contributions, encouraging other young professionals to explore similar opportunities that allow them to support the community even further.
Although he is a newer member, Andres says YLS has already expanded his perspective and opened doors professionally. The welcoming environment and networking opportunities have introduced him to new ideas, new connections, and new ways to serve the community. He looks forward to continuing to contribute his skills while helping the organization grow its impact.
For Andres, volunteering is about more than giving time, it’s about strengthening the community we all share.
“Volunteering is vital because it centers on the selfless act of offering one's time and effort to a greater cause,” he says. “It allows us to give back to those facing difficult circumstances and reminds us that when we are willing to help one another, our entire community grows stronger.”
